Palm Cove
Palm Cove is located just 30 minutes north of Cairns City and is a relaxed yet sophisticated village lined with award winning restaurants, internationally renowned day spas and spa resorts, fashion boutiques, jewellery and art galleries and is Cairns’ most prominent and famous beach. Centuries old “paperbark” Melaleuca trees line the casual Esplanade while sun lovers play in the ocean and laze about on the soft golden sands.
Port Douglas
Port Douglas, affectionately known as “Port”, is a sophisticated, but laid back seaside village. Is a scenic one hour coastal drive north of Cairns International Airport along the Captain Cook Highway. Port Douglas is the closest town to the Great Barrier Reef with no traffic lights or parking meters in sight and is the perfect place to get away from the hustle and bustle of every day life whilst still enjoying cosmopolitan convenience and contemporary style in a tropical climate.
Kuranda
Kuranda is a quaint village of nestled among World Heritage-listed rainforest at the top of the Kuranda Range Road, a short 45 minute drive north-west of Cairns. It is a popular spot for locals and tourists alike due to its alternative culture, easy going lifestyle and cool, tropical mountain climate. Kuranda has earned a reputation as the arts and craft nexus of Cairns and Great Barrier Reef.
Mission Beach
Welcome to Mission Beach, an unspoilt tropical paradise of World Heritage-listed rainforest, sandy beaches and the closest departure point to the Great Barrier Reef, Dunk Island and Bedarra Island. Mission Beach is a two hour drive south of Cairns and is made up of three beautiful beaches; South Mission Beach, Wongaling Beach and Bingil Bay. Traditionally a quiet seaside town, it is sometimes referred to as the “Cassowary Coast” in recognition of the largest population of the critically endangered Southern Cassowaries, who reside here.
Trinity Beach
Trinity Beach, 20 minutes north from Cairns, is a popular holiday destination for both the domestic and international traveller. Truly a tropical holiday destination where the locals and tourists mingle together enjoying this paradise. Trinity Beach has a relaxed sea-side village ambience rarely found elsewhere.
Yungaburra
The picturesque village of Yungaburra lies in the heart of the Atherton Tablelands, just one hour up from Cairns into the Highlands. Largely unchanged since 1910, wide verandahs and historical shop fronts line the tranquil streets. With 18 heritage listed buildings, it is the largest National Trust village in Queensland. Yungaburra nestles in countryside that has been shaped by volcanic activity. The legacy is stunning surrounds with rainforest, waterfalls, crater lakes and green pastures.
Cape Tribulation / Daintree
Daintree and Cape Tribulation is home to the oldest tropical rainforest on earth and the only place on the planet where World Heritage-listed Daintree rainforest meets the Great Barrier Reef. Easy to find but hard to leave, the Daintree rainforest is 100 kilometres north of Cairns or 45 kilometres north of Port Douglas. There are a number of accommodation and Daintree rainforest tour options for you to experience and enjoy.
Newell Beach
Newell Beach is located an hour and a quarter north of Cairns via the winding coast road with magnificent view out across the Coral Sea and through rolling fields of sugar cane. Newell Beach is only a short drive from famous places such as Port Douglas, the crystal clear rock pools of Mossman Gorge National Park, Daintree Village and Rainforest, and the mighty Daintree River, home to the Estuarine Crocodile and giant Barramundi.
Cairns
Here we enjoy around 300 days of sunshine a year, plenty of space and a friendly, relaxed tropical lifestyle. With World Heritage-listed rainforest on one side and Great Barrier Reef on the other, it’s no wonder Cairns is one of Australia’s most popular holiday destinations. A modern, sophisticated city with world class shopping, dining, entertainment and cultural facilities, Cairns has dozens of restaurants, accommodation, bars and a beautiful Esplanade lagoon.
Holloways Beach
Holloways Beach is located just 10 minutes north of Cairns. Whilst Holloways Beach is so close to Cairns and it's cosmopolitan lifestyle and numerous attractions, it still feels completely isolated, with a relaxed tropical atmosphere. The beach itself is a truly tropical beach, with coconut palms overhanging the beachfront and the calm temperate waters of the Coral Sea.
Oak Beach
Oak Beach is a 1.5 km palm-fringed tropical haven with an inner coral reef at one end and World Heritage listed rainforest behind. Just 10 minutes south of Port Douglas and 45 minutes north of Cairns International Airport, it is close enough to enjoy the major attractions of Port Douglas and Tropical North Queensland before returning to solitude and relaxation.
