Alexandra Headlands
Alexandra Headlands is a beautiful spot on what is known as the Sunshine Strip - it sits between Mooloolaba and Maroochydore. The town with its laid back atomosphere and invititing beaches has become a popular spot for surfers. Swimmers can also enjoy the rolling beaches as there is a patrolled swimming area provided by the surf club. The headland has spectacular views to Mount Coolum and north along the sweeping beach to the Maroochy River. Alex is just over 100km from Brisbane.
Noosa
Noosa Heads and Hastings Street are two very famous and popular places to visit on the Sunshine Coast. Fraser Island
Fraser Island stretches over 123 kilometres in length and 22 kilometres at its widest point. With an area of 184 000 hectares it is the largest sand island in the world. Fraser island is a place of exceptional beauty, with its long uninterrupted white beaches flanked by strikingly coloured sand cliffs, and over 100 freshwater lakes, some tea-coloured and others clear and blue.
