Pendragon Hall
Holiday House | 4 Star (Self)
Pendragon Hall is a converted church on the border of the CBD in Hobart, Tasmania. Built in 1852, it is heritage listed and has extensive history and architechtural significance and beauty. The Studio Apartment is located under the front of the church, is fully self contained (breakfast optional), with an equipped kitchenette, bathroom, queen size brass bed (electric blanket), dining and lounge area, TV, DVD player (good selection of DVD’s) and heater.
It features polished Tassie oak floors and leadlight windows. The Gothic architecture of the building takes you back to the times of the newly developing Hobart Town. Hobart was established in 1803 when the Governor of New South Wales feared the French would colonise Tasmania. There are over 90 beautiful Hobart buildings that are protected by National Trust. Convict built, the two feet thick sandstone walls of Pendragon Hall (formerly St John the Baptist church) keep it cool in summer and warm in winter; the ambience denotes a combination of old world charm and modern comfort.
Pendragon Hall Studio Apartment is handy to art galleries and the trendy Pigeon Hole Café, the Hobart CBD, Salamanca and historical waterfront, the Cascade Brewery, Wrest Point Casino and the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery, Mt Wellington, to name but a few!
